Harwell CEO Joseph Hardy Receives Griffith University Young Alumnus Award
Harwell Home Care is proud to celebrate Founder and CEO Joseph Hardy, who has been named the 2026 Young Alumnus Award recipient for Griffith Business School as part of Griffith University’s Outstanding Alumni Awards.
The recognition celebrates Joe’s journey as an entrepreneur and leader, and his commitment to building purpose-driven organisations that create meaningful impact in healthcare and the communities they serve.
From Griffith graduate to Harwell Home Care
Joe graduated from Griffith University in 2020 with a Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Commerce. Since then, he has built businesses focused on improving healthcare access, workforce sustainability and community impact, combining commercial leadership with a strong commitment to care.
That purpose has been central to the growth of Harwell Home Care and the work our teams do every day supporting veterans, older Australians and their families to live happier, healthier lives at home.
For Joe, one of the most meaningful parts of that journey has been seeing the impact of a shared purpose grow far beyond what one person could achieve alone. As he told Griffith:
“One person can do a lot. 500 moving towards a single purpose can do more.”
More than care at home
Joe’s Griffith profile also reflects on the responsibility that comes with caring for people during some of the most significant and vulnerable moments of their lives.
He shared how the passing of a Harwell client brought home the reality that, for some people, Harwell and its team members may be among the last organisations and people to support them during the closing chapter of their life.
For Joe, that creates both an enormous responsibility and an opportunity: to help make that chapter as peaceful as possible for clients and their families.
It’s a perspective that speaks strongly to what Harwell stands for. Behind every service, visit and interaction is a person, a family and an opportunity to make a genuine difference.
A recognition we’re proud to celebrate
Receiving the 2026 Young Alumnus Award – Griffith Business School is an exciting milestone in Joe’s journey and recognition of the purpose, persistence and leadership that continue to shape Harwell today.
While the award recognises Joe individually, his reflections on the recognition highlight the collective impact people can create when they work towards something meaningful together.
On behalf of everyone at Harwell Home Care, congratulations, Joe! We’re incredibly proud to see your leadership and commitment to making a difference recognised by Griffith University.
Better Care. Brighter Days.
