Harwell Home Care Welcomes Grant Edmunds to the Board

Harwell Home Care is pleased to announce the appointment of Grant Edmunds to its Board of Directors, strengthening the organisation’s strategic and financial leadership as it continues its growth journey.

Grant joins Harwell with more than 25 years of experience in finance and business leadership across a diverse range of industries, geographies and business models, including recent experience within the in-home care sector.

His background spans private and public organisations, high-growth environments, mergers and acquisitions, debt funding, strategic planning and building high-performing teams, making him a valuable addition as Harwell continues to expand its services and reach more Australians in need of care.

For Grant, joining Harwell was driven by more than professional opportunity.

“There was a strong alignment of values,” he said. “I saw an opportunity to use my experience to help strategically guide a company that has ambitious growth plans and ultimately provide more services to the community.”

Grant said purpose has become increasingly important in the organisations he chooses to work with.

“Particularly as I’ve gotten older, it’s become really important to ensure the work I do has a positive impact on people around me. As a father of two boys, I think a lot about the legacy I’m creating and making sure I’m contributing to something meaningful.”

As Australia’s home care sector navigates significant government reform, Grant believes organisations must balance operational excellence with quality care outcomes.

“The regulatory landscape continues to shift, and pricing structures are becoming increasingly fixed. That means providers need to be highly efficient operationally while maintaining exceptional service standards. Cost discipline is important – but finance leadership is really about maximising value, not simply cutting costs.”

What excites Grant most about Harwell’s future is the organisation’s ambition.

“Harwell isn’t afraid to grow – and that growth means more people receiving the support they need, particularly older Australians and veterans who deserve high-quality care that allows them to remain independent at home. That’s something worth being part of.”

Harwell CEO Joseph Hardy said Grant’s appointment comes at an exciting time for the organisation.

“Grant brings an exceptional combination of financial expertise, strategic thinking and genuine alignment to our purpose. As we continue to grow and evolve, his experience will be incredibly valuable in helping guide Harwell into its next chapter.”

Outside of work, Grant enjoys staying active, keeping fit and spending time with his two sons.

Harwell Home Care welcomes Grant to the team and looks forward to the impact his leadership will bring.
